Dachstein Glacier - Ramsauer XC Trail
moderate closed Cross-country skiing · Dachstein
The Ramsau trail is the shorter of the two high-alpine glacier trails on the Dachstein Glacier and offers you glacier cross-country skiing with a great view towards Grimming and the Krippenstein.
Enjoy up to 5 km of perfectly groomed trails at over 2,500 m above sea level on the Schladming Glacier between Gjaidstein and Koppenkarstein. Run and train where the world elite of Nordic skiing regularly train.
You can reach the trails with the Dachstein Gletscherbahn.
from the mountain station of the Dachstein cable car you go up the metal stairs to the beginning of the groomed hiking trail and from there slowly descend in the direction of the Gjaidsteinsattel. Please be considerate of the hikers next to you in this area. In front of the saddle you then branch off along the track to the right and drive downhill to the Schladminger Glacier where the loops of the Ramsau Loipe wind over the glacier. Have fun!
From the West: Take the A10 to Knoten Ennstal - take the exit towards Graz/Schladming. Drive along the Ennstal-Bundesstraße for approx. 20 km until you reach Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau.
From the North: Take the Pyhrnautobahn direction Liezen. Then follow the Ennstalbundesstraße to Schladming. Take the turn-off for Ramsau.
Then continue through the village of Ramsau and follow the Dachstein toll road to the valley terminal of the Dachstein glacier cable-car.
