Naturpark Sölktäler

Schönwetterhütte

Tour description

Our Schönwetterhütte is located at 1442m above sea level in the midst of the beautiful Sölktäler Nature Park.

Since 2010, we, Heidi and Manfred Brugger, with the strong support of our two children Patricia and Gabriel, our aunt Otti, and Grandma Sybille, have been managing the hut.

The Schönwetterhütte is a popular alpine hut offering meals in the summer as well as in the winter. Our hut can be reached on foot in about one hour from Kollerparklatz. Not only day guests are warmly welcomed here, but also overnight guests, who can make themselves comfortable in our 2 dormitories. We have space for a total of 14 people, divided into 1x 8 people and 1x 6 people. There is also a small bathroom with a shower. Day guests and overnight guests are served mostly self-produced foods. In addition to the alpine hut, we also own a small farm with an on-site butcher shop and an apartment for rent. Here we produce items such as Käsekrainer, Leberkäse, various types of sausages, spreadable sausages, Frankfurters, and bacon. Of course, the eggs for the delicious Kaiserschmarren come from our own free-range chickens.

Just come and relax—you're exactly right at our Schönwetterhütte. After a cozy breakfast, you can hike directly from the hut to the beautiful summit of Gumpeneck. This tour takes about 2.5 hours (one way) and takes you through stunning untouched nature. Through the alpine ground, known as the Kar, where Archduke Johann once hunted—or sometimes even danced—you will reach the "Erzherzog Johann Kreuz," which was erected in his honor. Furthermore, you will pass by a small lake. Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view. Most of the time, you will be observed by a few curious sheep. On nice days, you can even see up to 13 church towers from the summit. If you wish to hike a bit further, you can visit the second peak of our Gumpental: the Zinken.

After this beautiful tour, you can cool your feet in the nearby stream and then make yourself comfortable in front of or inside the hut. Maybe with a delicious pork roast with sauerkraut, dumplings, and a cold beer?

You are also very welcome to visit us in winter. The Gumpeneck is worth a visit in winter as well. Preferably with touring skis, of course. Those who prefer a more relaxed outing can also do a snowshoe hike up to the hut. Our tiled stove creates a cozy atmosphere, and with a hearty beef soup or a hot mulled wine, you'll soon feel warm again.

We would definitely be very happy about your visit.
