Sky Walk

Right below your feet: the 250 metre vertically suspended rock’s face belonging to the Hunerkogel – and you don’t even need to climb it first. Nope: everyone can experience it without needing to exhaust themselves thanks to the one-of-a-kind platform made from glass, the Dachstein Sky Walk. Surrounding you: an amazing mountain panorama. Hello and welcome at the Dachstein Sky walk, the most spectacular viewing platform of the Alps.

On cloudless days, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the “Hohen Tauern” all the way to Slovenia and Czechia. Interesting detail:  the Dachstein Sky Walk is situated 2.700 metres above sea level and is therefore, even higher located than the viewing platform at the Niagara Falls or the Iguazu Waterfalls in Brazil, for example.

Experience amazing sights – inside and out. Maybe you’ll feel a little squeamish in the beginning, but after the first few steps you’ll immediately forget all about it. And don’t worry, safety comes first at the Dachstein Glacier. The visit to the Sky Walk is totally safe. The steel construction weighs about 40 tons and is more than capable of withstanding storms up to 210 km/h and 8 metres of heavy, thick snow. The Sky Walk can accommodate up to 150 people.

Alongside the viewing platform by the top station, there is also a circular trail waiting for you. The trail guarantees beautiful views of the spectacular Dachstein East Wall and the most beautiful mountain tops of the Alps. Additionally, comfy beach chairs invite to chill, relax, catch some sun and enjoy a snack.
